The Real Writers Competition
An internet book website from Hammicks Bookshops that includes links to
The Real Writers Competition.
EIGHT YEARS AFTER their first short story competition, Real Writers, the
leading quality support and appraisal service for aspiring writers has
joined forces with The Book Pl@ce to create a brand new award for writers
of short fiction.
Since The Book Pl@ce and Hammicks Bookshops became involved, the prize has
received extra coverage in the regional media and support from the Daily
Mail. As a result, last year's competition received over 3,300 entries, a
new record. Combined with its £2,500 first prize, it is now the biggest
short story competition in the UK.
However, for most entrants, the real prize is the unique opportunity for
the finalists to get their work in front of Francesca Liversidge,
publishing director at Bantam Publishing.
