Welcome to the Writers' Web Resource site, a site
for you to use, suggest changes, and enjoy.
Thanks
for visiting the Writers' Web Resource site. I'm
What's-On:
What writers website would be complete without a What's-On
page?
If you have an event coming up then shout about it here. If you know of
event not listed let your fellow writers know about it by dropping me an
email.
Writer's
Showcase:
Have you got a book to shout about?
Send me the details for my new
Writer's Showcase page. All readers of this site will sympathize with
the hard work that goes into creating a book so don't feel embarrassed
about showing it off.
Email showcase@writerswebresource.co.uk
Article submissions: Unfortunately I can't offer you
payment other than a link back to your web site or online store, but I would very much welcome
submissions preferably related to the art of writing or about authors in
general. Please submit to writers@writerswebresource.co.uk.
Software
Library:
I've selected a range of software that could be very useful for the budding
writer. From word processors through to script writing software, you
should find what you need in the Software Library.
Have you got a
web site?
Whether the answer is yes or no you can register a new web site at 123-reg.
Prices start from just 39p for a uk.co domain name.
Amazon UK: We've teamed up with Amazon UK to bring you some excellent books to
help you with your writing. Why Amazon? Because I have found them to
be efficient, trustworthy, inexpensive (but not necessarily cheap), and
generally quick to deliver.
Writers' Links:
I think most people would agree
that networking and contacts are key if you want to progress in a very
competitive market place.
Within the pages of the Writers' Web Resource you will find numerous links
to publishers, competitions, e-zines, pages-that-pay, and many more.
To help your fellow writers please mail me your suggestions for useful web
sites - particularly UK sites
News Review:
A well thumbed part of the site (can you thumb through a web page?) is the
News Review page. Here you will find news
relevant to you - the writer. If you have news let me know and I'll try to
include it for all to see.
As the News Review page constantly changes I've added an 'archive' news
page called Old News that will contain
non-time-sensitive news that you may find worth reading.
The Writers'
Comment:
Another recently added section is the Writers'
Comment. After receiving several emails from visitors I decided to
post their comments on the site. Unfortunately most have been lost so
please get emailing. Your letters/comments can be on any subject area
relating to the craft of writing, even if it's just to get something off
your chest.
The Writers'
Library:
Ever looked through Waterstones' book shelves trying to find that perfect
book to help you? Look no further, I've listed over one hundred books guaranteed
to give you information if not inspiration. The
Writers' Library can save you money as well as shoe leather, however,
if you can't wait the short amount of time to order over the Internet I've
listed the ISBN so you can get it from your local book shop or library.
Used Books for
Sale:
Not everybody wants to pay good money on a new book, especially when
starting out. If that's you have a look at my used
books page. Buy direct from me using PayPal or via Amazon Marketplace.
Writers' Freebies:
Who wants to pay for goodies when you can have them for free?
Have a look at the Writers' Freebies
page for yours.
Computer Tips:
It's amazing how you can use a computer for years and not realise the
potential of the software. I've collected a few tips
together, mainly for MS Office, to help you achieve more for a little less
effort.
